With the staggering success of the iPad thus far and with forecasts from iSuppli for tablet shipments to reach around 13MU this year, there is plenty of evidence to conclude that end users want smartbook tablet type devices for a variety of reasons. In previous blogs, we’ve shown data from end user research that indicates not every person will want the same type of tablet for the same type of use. Previously, we’ve shown you some concept designs that indicate a variety of form factors.
Now, we’re taking it a step further by showing four concept videos of these form factors in use. Each of these videos focuses on a different age demographic and a different use model.
With the 10-year-old, gaming is a focus, but watch mom use the same gaming tablet to connect to the doctor for a quick video checkup.
The 14-year-old girls also have some fun with their smartbook, but there is also a tie-in to education as she uses it for homework.
The young adults show social networking, but also control their appliances.
And the mobile professional incorporates a client presentation and video conferencing into his smartbook experience.
All technologies depicted in these videos are sampling now. No science fiction here.
